William Andrew Loomis (1892–1959), better known simply as Andrew Loomis, was an American illustrator.
He studied in New York at an illustrator in the studio of George Bridgman and F V du Monde. Continued his education at the Art Institute of Chicago. Then he served in the Army and on his return to Chicago opened his first studio.
In the 1930s, Loomis taught at the American Academy of Arts.
Andrew Loomis created several amazing and useful books on Illustration, Drawing, and Painting. For example, the book Creative Illustration is one of the main books, which should be at every artist, designer and illustrator.
